The International Union of Painters and Allied Trades in Ontario want to ensure you are up-to-date with your health & safety training requirements. Why is it so important to keep up with your training? First and foremost, we want to make sure that you get home safely after each and every workday. Whether you work outside and need to protect yourself from the heat and various elements or you’re working with any type of equipment, chemicals or other substances, it’s important that you’re knowledgeable about how to keep safe, no matter your environment.

What happens if you’re injured on the job?

If proper health & safety regulations are followed, this shouldn’t be an issue. However, things do happen. First thing is first; seek necessary medical attention if needed. Then, according to the Ontario Ministry of Labour, there are steps that must be taken within a certain time period. This includes notifying your Toronto painter’s union representative, your health & safety representative and the Ministry of Labour Health & Safety Contact Centre. In some cases, a phone call will work. In most circumstances, you’ll need to submit written notification, being careful to include all details of the event.

Get Rewarded for Completing Training

IUPAT Ontario offers the STAR (Safety & Training Awards Recognition) program to encourage participation and completion of safety and training courses.
