Did you know that young workers, during their first month on the job, are four times more likely to be injured than at any other time?
In 2009 more than 7,500 young workers were hurt on the job. These injuries are unacceptable and preventable. Armed with the right information and resources, young workers and new workers of any age can learn to recognize potential hazards in the workplace and take steps to ensure their safety.
The Ontario government is striving to continually improve health and safety knowledge among young workers, parents and teachers, while focusing enforcement activities on employers who must ensure their workplaces are safe for all workers.
