On October 19, 2015, Canada will hold elections. This is a critical junction for our country, as well as for all those workers who hold union jobs in Toronto and other cities. The trajectory of our communities’ futures truly depends on who wins and who loses. This is why the IUPAT is supporting a national movement called the “I’m Getting Involved Campaign”.
What Is “I’m Getting Involved Campaign” About?
This campaign was created by Canada’s thriving Building Trades at the national level. It provides for education to be disseminated to union workers throughout the nation, and to encourage everyone to vote.
Along with this campaign is the Let’s Build Canada program. The IUPAT has already received hardhat stickers to build awareness about the upcoming election and get the conversation started about the topics most important to workers in Canada today, such as:
- The infrastructure needs for the coming generations.
- The need for union jobs and union workers to fill those jobs.
- The desire for a more union-friendly and worker-friendly Canadian government.
- The need for fairness and equality for all workers.
Don’t forget to take a picture of yourself wearing your Let’s Build Canada hardhat sticker and upload it to Facebook, tagging the IUPAT in the process.

Our ultimate goal is to have 100 percent of our IUPAT members who can vote, go to the polls on election day. If you will be absent, please call our offices to talk to us about absentee voting options.
