How informed are you on the agenda of Tim Hudak and his anti-union policies? Unions in Ontario need your help to keep him from taking office as Premier. Unions across Ontario are being threatened because of Hudak’s stance on several issues that will have a negative effect on Canadian working families. We’d like to take this opportunity to educate you. Specifically, we’d like to point out some of Hudak’s agenda items that will change the way your life is being lived if he takes office.
First, according to Patrick Dillon, spokesperson for the Ontario Provincial Building Trades, Hudak is planning to “make cuts to health care and education, eliminate full-day kindergarten, get rid of card-based certification in the construction industry, change apprenticeship ratios without independent expert advice, and would introduce amendments to the Labour Relations Act” which would severely restrict our ability to serve our members. We’re also very concerned that training and apprenticeship standards as well as the right to collective bargaining would also be threatened.
