Are you paying close attention to the information we’ve been sending out regarding the upcoming provincial election? The following message contains information on why conservative Tim Hudak simply cannot take office as Premier as he threatens the very integrity of not just IUPAT, but unions across Ontario. The biggest threats to workers’ rights include weakening wages which not only immediately impacts each of our families, but also the vitality of future generations.
More specifically, Hudak’s intentions are to follow U.S.-style labour laws which enabled laws to be passed in Wisconsin that have significantly reduced unions’ abilities to negotiate. The big question here is why would we want to vote for someone who continues to use big, ambiguous promises that will simply break the back of the Union gains we have made here in our Province? We need to remain strong and unified in order to continue to fight for fairness and our very right to be paid, earn and be covered fairly, the way we deserve.
