To all Members and Signatory Contractors of District Council 46,
It is with mixed emotions that I announce that Franco Santeramo has been hired by the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades to work as Lead Organizer for Canada. While Franco is remaining an important part of the IUPAT family, Franco is no longer working for District Council 46 and no longer has responsibilities for residential paint. We will miss having Franco as a part of our team on a day-to-day basis however we are happy that Franco will be sharing his knowledge and expertise with District Councils, members and workers throughout Canada. We wish Franco continued success in his new role.
James Clark has been appointed as the new Director of Organizing. James has been a highly valued member of the Organizing Department and will use his experience to organize the unorganized. Franco’s duties regarding Residential Paint have been assigned to Walter Qualizza. Walter has been a Union Representative for many years and brings his knowledge and experience from drywall finishing to this new role. Walter and Franco have been working together to ensure a smooth transition. I am confident that James and Walter will, through their hard work and dedication, build upon the record of success that defines District Council 46.
