On Saturday, August 24, 2013, please join us in celebrating a scenic, memorial bike ride in honour of Dermot Lynch on the picturesque trails of The Blue Mountains.
Beginning in the charming, quaint town of Thornbury, the bike ride will travel for approximately 15 km past the Beaver River, through the town of Clarksburg and up Grey Road 40,where a midway point will be positioned to remember our lost but never forgotten Dermot Lynch.
Here you will have the option to break for a refreshment or you may continue your ride down Grey Road 40 towards the beautiful view of the Georgian Bay.
The ride will continue off road on the Georgian Trail up Highway 26 to Thornbury which will lead us back to the starting point- Beaver Valley Community Centre.
All proceeds which are raised for this event will be donated to the Heart and Stroke Foundation in commemoration of Dermot Lynch; a husband, father, grandfather, brother, co-worker, dear friend and free spirit, which we lost on May 26, 2012.
During a leisurely, Saturday afternoon bike ride down Grey Road 40, Dermot collapsed and passed suddenly due to clogged arteries and an irregular heartbeat. Although nothing we can do will bring back our loved one or ease our pain, we would like to celebrate and honour Dermot’s life by coming together and participating in an activity that Dermot loved so much.
It is our goal that by raising awareness we may be able to save lives by encouraging regular exercise, a healthy life style and routine medical examinations.
Thank you for your interest and any support you can give Dermot’s family and friends in not only celebrating his life, but all lives we have lost to causes the Heart and Stroke Foundation help support.
