If you’re planning to spend a lot of time traveling this autumn, or you simply travel because of work or pleasure anyway, take a look at the exterior of corporate buildings, healthcare and government facilities, and homes across Ontario. You’ll notice that many use stucco as part of their construction. This isn’t by coincidence; it’s by design. Stucco is a fantastic material that continues to be utilized in residential and commercial jobs around the world.
What makes stucco so attractive as a covering for the outside of properties? There are several advantages:
- It’s durable. When properly applied by trained professionals, like many of the members of IUPAT, it can last for many years. This makes it appealing, because the longer that you can trust your stucco, the more peace of mind you have.
- It dresses up well. Stucco in its raw form may not look like much, but the nice thing about this product is that it can be dressed up in many ways. With the right application of paints, it can turn any home or office building into a magnificent-looking structure.
- It’s all-weather. Cold? Hot? Stucco doesn’t care. It holds up under pretty extreme temperatures, so you can feel good living in a climate that has “mood swings” from summer to winter.
- It’s low maintenance. For many people, this is the ultimate selling point. Many types of exterior materials are medium-to-high maintenance, such as cedar shingles which have to be professionally cleaned regularly. Stucco requires much less maintenance, and can usually be completed by the homeowner or business owner.
- It holds its color. After you’ve painted your stucco, you don’t have to worry that you’ll need to paint it again and again. Stucco is notorious for holding onto your favourite hues, leaving you with a corporate office or house that continues to be attractive year after year.
- It doesn’t have to be repeatedly applied. Concerned that you’ll have to re-apply your stucco? As long as you’ve hired professional stucco workers to do the job, you shouldn’t have any concerns. Plus, if your stucco does become damaged because of an accident, it can be repaired rapidly by experts.
- It’s appealing to buyers. Want to sell your home or office building? If the exterior is made of stucco, you might get better bids thanks to improved curb appeal. Plenty of buyers know the benefits of stucco, and actively seek properties that use this material.
