Labour Day Parade
Join us in participating in our Labour Day walk on Monday, September 3, 2012!
Labour Day in Canada is celebrated on the first Monday of September. It originally gave workers the chance to campaign for better working conditions or pay. Traditionally, Labour Day was an occasion to campaign for and celebrate workers’ rights during parades and picnics organized by trade unions. This day now is part of a long weekend for many Canadians.
On Monday, September 3, 2012, our Business Representatives from District Council 46 will meet with our union members to participate in this parade at Queen and University Street. (Time to meet will be verified). We will march from this location to the CNE grounds. Also, we are looking for one union member to march in the front of the parade alongside other unions as a colour party.
