We just wrapped up our trip to the IUPAT General Convention and have some news to report.
First, we’re happy to announce that the General President, Kenneth E. Rigmaiden, General Vice President for Canada, Robert Kucheran, and the rest of the incumbent G.E.B. were re-elected to serve another five years.
As you may have heard, the theme for this year’s convention was BOLD FUTURE and is a theme that will carry on throughout the next five years that is focused on organizing and growing our membership. IUPAT has issued a challenge to all of its union members to help increase our membership throughout North America by over 30,000 union members in the next five years. The good news for us here in Canada is that we have a lot of work opportunities coming up including projects for infrastructure, transportation, oil and pipelines. We will be working very diligently to do what we can to help reach that number.
