Prostate cancer is the most common cancer among Canadian men, and early detection can save lives.
IUPAT, together with The Walnut Foundation and Princess Margaret Hospital will be holding a free Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA) blood testing clinic for members of Building Trade Unions who are aged 40 and older.
Why PSA Testing Matters
- 1 in 8 men in Canada will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime.
- 1 in 6 Black men in Canada will face a prostate cancer diagnosis.
- Black men are twice as likely to die from prostate cancer compared to other populations.
- Prostate cancer is the third leading cause of cancer death in Canadian men.
- Over 60% of prostate cancer cases are found in men over 65.
Early detection is key. A simple PSA blood test can identify potential issues before symptoms appear, giving men a greater chance for effective treatment and recovery.
