District Council 46 is proud to present our Scholarship Award Program for 2026. We will be offering three scholarships to the children and grandchildren of IUPAT District Council 46 members, which include painters, drywall tapers, glaziers, hazmat workers, stucco workers, sign writers, fireproofers, epoxy floor workers, and polyurethane workers.

We recognize that the cost of post-secondary education continues to rise, and financial support can make a meaningful difference. By helping students pursue their goals, we hope to encourage the next generation to build successful careers and make a positive contribution to their communities.
How to Apply for the Scholarship
To apply for the scholarship, applicants are required to submit an essay of no less than 1,000 words and no more than 2,000 words on the specific topic below:
The world of technology is rapidly changing the ways in which we live our lives. From smart home technologies to smart scales and longevity bands to online micro-advertising, our lives are increasingly shaped by artificial intelligence whether we know it or not. Some industries, including call centres and computer coding, are being radically changed as artificial intelligence replaces humans on a wholesale basis. The skilled trades have long been considered insulated from the proliferation of artificial intelligence but is that still the case today? Are skilled trades immune from the impacts of artificial intelligence? Is that immunity a good thing? How can AI be used to improve the lives of skilled tradespersons while not jeopardizing their jobs?
