The IUPAT District Council 46 is proud to announce its scholarship award program for 2023. The IUPAT has long been offering educational subsidies annually and this year is no different. This scholarship program is open to children and grandchildren of IUPAT District Council 46 professional painters, drywall tapers, glaziers, hazmat workers, stucco workers, sign writers, fireproofers, epoxy floor workers, and polyurethane workers. Three scholarship awards of $2,000 each will go towards the institution of their choice.
Education is crucial in today’s world, and IUPAT understands the importance of supporting education and making it more accessible and affordable for everyone. The scholarship award program is part of IUPAT’s commitment to help students achieve their full potential despite rising education costs. By providing financial support to students, IUPAT aims to help them pursue their dreams and build a better future for themselves and their families.
How to Apply for the Scholarship
To win one of the scholarship awards, applicants must submit an essay of not less than 1,000 words and not more than 2,000 words on the specific topic provided. This year’s topic is:
The Construction sector of Ontario is currently facing an acute shortage of skilled trade workers, and all levels of government, construction unions, etc. are attempting to address this shortage.
As well, all levels of government and construction unions are also dealing with ‘undocumented’ or non-Canadian citizens who are working in construction.
Please discuss what, if anything, government and construction trade unions should be doing to address the issues noted above to ensure that construction jobs and projects in Ontario are not delayed.
The deadline to submit the application form and essay is July 21, 2023. Submissions should be sent to the IUPAT District Council 46 office.
