Impressive Long-Term Growth in Greater Toronto Area (GTA) Should Positively Affect Commercial Painters
It’s definitely a good time to count yourself among the ranks of trained, unionized residential and commercial painters in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). A recent BuildForce report emphasizes that the GTA is one of the country’s sectors that’s expected to experience steady growth among industrial companies and manufacturers until at least 2020. This is exceptional news for anyone in or entering the painting trade.
Where will we see a need for painters in the coming years? Thanks to an increase in the population of the GTA, as well as the increase in companies setting up workplaces in and around the city of Toronto, there should be a wealth of residential and commercial painting opportunities:
- New construction: Whether the properties are meant for manufacturing process plants, car dealerships or condo high rises, they will all have to be painted inside and outside.
- Renovation projects: Every year, renovation projects dot neighborhoods across the GTA. These renovation projects inevitably require the help of professional painters at some juncture.
- Infrastructure projects: Who paints the bridges? How about water towers? What about other properties that fall under the auspices of the government or municipalities? You guessed it: industrial painters.
Clearly, we need painters who are ready to transform the shape and face of the GTA, adding even more appeal to continue our growth. If you or someone else has ever considered painting as a career, now is the time to get started.
