Working with glass and glass-related products isn’t as simple as watching a “how to” video online and then mimicking what you see. They learn early in their apprenticeships that glass has to be treated and installed perfectly… every time. Talk about pressure!
Ironically, most glaziers in the Toronto area will tell you how much they love their roles, especially when they can see the finished products sprouting up throughout the community. Their pride shows when they point to buildings and explain how they masterfully were able to navigate even the most challenging aspects of glazier work.

For a finished product to be deemed “professional”, it takes a professional labour force. Unionized glaziers are well-versed in their parts when it comes to glazier jobs. They not only have a background that includes tremendous expertise, but they have the backing of everyone at their union.
When you hear glaziers talking about their “brothers” and “sisters”, you can be sure those aren’t just buzzwords. They’re meaningful, because the union relationship and bond is important between glaziers and other tradespeople throughout the country.
