As a member of the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades you may not know what your Union is about or the opportunities your Union provides. I wish to extend to you an invitation to attend one of the “Member Orientation” seminars to be held on the following dates:
1. Saturday, February 20, 2010
2. Saturday, February 27, 2010
3. Saturday, March 6, 2010 - Has been cancelled.
Location: Ontario Industrial & Finishing Skills Centre, 130 Toro Road, Toronto, Ontario (1st street South of Finch Avenue off of Keele Street).
The information session will begin with a continental breakfast at 8:00 a.m. and session will run from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Note: You only need to attend one of the above sessions.
Some of the important information you will get from this seminar will be:
• Structures of the International Union, Ontario Council, District Council & Local Unions;
• Meet the Business Representatives that serve you and organize your industry;
• Know & understand the medical, dental & pension benefit for all members;
• Be introduced to the numerous training programs from health & safety to skills;
• Know your legal rights as a member of the IUPAT & understand about grievances;
• Know why you pay and where your Union dues are spent;
• Important points of what you expect from your employer & what they expect of you, and
• Understand & know the numerous benefits and programs offered by District Council 46.
You must register for this important information session as we can only accommodate the first 120 participants that reply.
